Friendly and Considerate

In this week’s Contemplative Living Podcast, we talk about the ways we can be friendly and considerate. Begin a practice that trains the mind to become friendly and considerate. Observing our lives is like viewing a large tapestry on a distant wall. Unconsciously, we usually weave every personal experience into the tapestry. Let every experience be considerate. “Metta” is positive energy and kindness toward others. Practiced as loving-kindness meditation. The goal is to cultivate kindness for all beings, including yourself. Encouraging others through positive words gives their kindness room to blossom naturally. Can you overlook a person’s challenges and recognize that their heart opens to loving-friendliness. Stretching our capacity to become friendly and considerate sometimes requires that we sacrifice our old way of relating to the world.
