A Courageous Spiritual Practice

In this week’s Contemplative Living Podcast, we speak about having a courageous spiritual practice. A courageous spiritual practice offers a way to face our inner and outer worlds. Your interest in exploring fearlessness shows that bravery is already present in your life. Meditation is courageous. It takes courage to sit and examine your mind. A definition of bravery: is not being afraid of yourself. Develop inner strength and confidence not based on the ups and downs of our contemporary world.

Courage is our essential nature, demonstrated daily in facing the challenges of relationships, work, and health.

When we live our lives from a place of courage, we are tapping into our essential nature. This can be a scary proposition because it requires us to let go of the security of the familiar and venture into the unknown. But when we are courageous, we open ourselves up to new possibilities and new ways of being in the world.

A courageous spiritual practice is not something that we necessarily need to summon in times of crisis. It is a practice that we can cultivate in our everyday lives so that we can face whatever comes our way with strength and grace. One way to do this is to practice meditation or mindfulness. When we quiet our minds and connect with our breath, we are able to connect with that place of courage within us. From this place, we can approach the world with confidence, knowing that we have the inner strength to handle whatever comes our way.
