Personal Honor and Integrity

In this week’s Contemplative Living Livestream, We look at our personal honor and integrity. Spiritual practice is about resolutely pursuing your projects in the world and living authentically with personal honor and integrity. Be an authentic moral agent, by prioritizing in practice what you care about. Stand up to the stream of social expectations by living in your honor. We accept honor within our being and commit to living by it. Live up to the standards you set for yourself by doing what is right, even when it is hard. The most important step in living with integrity is, to be honest with yourself. Bring forth positive qualities that will see us live meaningful and dignified lives.

Living In Your Honor

When it comes to living in your honor, there are a few things to keep in mind. First and foremost, always be true to yourself. This means being honest in all aspects of your life, from your personal relationships to your professional achievements. Secondly, never compromise your principles or values in order to please others. It’s important to stand up for what you believe in, even if it means going against the grain. Lastly, always be respectful of others, even if you don’t agree with them. Just because someone has a different opinion than you doesn’t mean they’re wrong—it just means they see the world differently. By honoring these three things, you can live an honorable life that you can be proud of.

Be Honest With Yourself

This is the first and most important step. You need to be honest about who you are, what you believe in, and what you want out of life. If you are not honest with yourself, it will be difficult to stay true to your integrity. – Know your values: What is important to you? What do you stand for? When you know your values, it becomes easier to make choices that align with them. –

Stay True To Your Word

Once you commit to something, follow through on it. This includes both big commitments and small ones. Keeping your word shows that you are a person of integrity.

Stand Up For What Is Right

Even when it is difficult, stand up for what you believe in. This can mean speaking up against injustice or standing up for someone who is being treated unfairly.

Be Compassionate

Showing compassion for others shows that you have empathy and caring for others. This is an important part of living in your integrity.
